Premium units from Daikin (Perfera) and Mitsubishi Electric (Kirigamine) can operate as quietly as 19–20dB(A) on their lowest fan speed — barely perceptible. Budget units may reach 30dB(A) or more, which becomes noticeable in a quiet room.
Installation in a home office
A single split system in a home office can typically be installed in 3–5 hours. The indoor unit is mounted on the wall, the outdoor condenser is positioned outside (on a wall bracket or the ground), and a small hole is made through the wall for the connecting pipework. Disruption is minimal.
